Ingredients
- 2 sheet pre-rolled frozen puff pastry, defrosted
- 380 gram can Wattie’s Apples, sliced
- milk or beaten egg to glaze
- sugar for sprinkling and sweetening
Method
- Preheat the oven to 220ºC and place the oven rack in the middle to upper middle section of the oven.
- Cut the pastry sheets in half on an angle to make 4 triangles. Sweeten the apples with 1-2 tablespoons sugar.
- Divide the apples evenly among the flour triangles, placing the fruit on one half on each triangle. Brush the edges of the pastry triangles with a little milk. Fold the free side of pastry over to enclose the fruit filling. Press the edges together firmly with the tines of a fork to seal.
- Place the turnovers on a well-greased or baking paper-lined oven tray. Brush the turnovers with milk to glaze and sprinkle each with a little sugar.
- Place in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the pastry is deep golden and well risen.
- Stand for 5 minutes before serving to allow the hot apple to cool.
